Joy Morris

Joy Morris has been conducting wedding ceremonies on Maui since 2012. She is one of the few licensed ministers on the island who performs Hawaiian-themed ceremonies in more than one language: English and her native German.

She includes the Oli Aloha welcoming and the Lei Celebration chants (for those who desire the customary lei exchange), as well as some royal words written by Queen Lili'oukalani. She also performs a Hawaiian chant during the koa-ki-kai ring blessing ritual and shares a Hawaiian benediction at the conclusion.

Joy welcomes all couples, regardless of nationality and gender orientation, but especially enjoys making feel at home those who hail from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and desire an appreciation for what is being shared about the Hawaiian culture in their native language.
